This new fully updated second edition of ‘The Gold Half-Sovereign’ 1544-2004 is hardback covered in maroon and gold blocked. 119 pages A5 of quality paper that in all total approx. 27,000 words. There are 45 plates and many in full colour.  They include every known type of Half-Sovereign & delightful pictures of all the branch mints and also of the Royal Mint Liantrisant.  A wealth of new material and varieties etc., has surfaced during the past twenty years all of which has been included.  To fully update this second edition the reigns of George VI 1936-1952 & of our Queen Elizabeth II have been added.  Readers I know will enjoy in particular the several new types of Half-Sovereigns so far engraved bearing the bust of Elizabeth II.  The Half-Sovereign featuring the fifth bust of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley is displayed on the front casing of the book and on the rear casing the reverse of the Half-Sovereign displays that most famous design of St. George slaying the dragon by Benedetto Pistrucci.
